Discover The Formosan Termites
Although the war against termites is a never-ending fight, people need to keep up on the devastation associated with termites. The amount of money spent every year to fight termite infestations rises into the billions. One thing that bothers people the most is that they sometimes never no that these annoying destroyers are taking up residency in their homes. Because termite presence is hard to detect, sometimes the damage is so severe that homes need full reconstruction and sometimes full rebuilding from scratch. The Formosan termite reproduces at such a high rate that areas like Mississippi have a serious threat from these termites, and controlling them is not as easy as one would think. Large colonies appear throughout Mississippi because of the mild climate. This termite was believed to have migrated into the United States by way of crates from the military people after WWII. Although no one can say for sure, some believe that the termites came by way of China, Japan and Taiwan. Since becoming accustomed to our climates, the Formosan termites thrive to devastate and crush people's dreams.
Because the Formosan termite feeds at such an accelerated rate of time, they are known to be a highly serious problem wherever they exist. An area that has a colony of these termites have seen damages on boats and high-rise building as the termite is known to climb to three hundred feet to feed.
The termites nest in walls, attics and trees and are hard to get rid of because of their resilient nature. These termites are hard to detect early in the infestation although you may see signs when looking at blistering paint, soft spots in walls and moist areas. You also need to watch the doors, windows and floors or any other areas that have wood. If you find that you have an infestation, you need to contact a pest control company to take care of the problem.
If you live in areas that have the Formosan termites lurking around, you need to protect yourself and your home from any type of infestation before it becomes a serious problem. Although termites are needed to help the ecosystem, they just do not need to worm themselves into our homes. If you do see them, act quickly to ensure as little damage as possible is done, they can do damage that you might not even know about at the time.
